Cefprozil is used for treatment of infections caused by S. pneumoniae, H. influenzae, staphylococci, S. pyogenes and E. Coli. It binds to specific penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) located inside the bacterial cell wall and inhibits the third and last stage of bacterial cell wall synthesis.
