Oxaprozin is used to relieve the pain and inflammation associated with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. It acts as a non selective COX inhibitor. Oxaprozin also shows inhibition of anandamide hydrolase in neurons (IC50 = 85 microM/l) and NF-kappaB activation in inflammatory celss (IC50 = 50 microM/l). Ref: Drug Evaluation 2005; 6 (5); 777-785.
