Trialkoxysilanes bearing a thiol (–SH) group. Includes MPTMS (AS-13395), the key reagent for silica–rubber bonding in green tyre compounds and for anti-corrosion coatings on steel. The thiol reacts with rubber vulcanisation agents, gold surfaces, and radical systems via thiol-ene chemistry.
